Your Own Bathroom Organizer

Use this page as your own bathroom organizer! These tips and ideas are written to help you get on top of the mess and frustration that comes along with a disorganized bathroom.

The idea is also to teach your familiy these ideas too so they can be a part of reducing the build up of mould and scum and mess!

  • Organize your bathroom by coordinating towels and washcloths. Assign a colour to each member of the family. The main reason for this is to keep each person accountable for their towel and its care. You will know who has left theirs on the floor or who throws theirs in the dirty wash basket too often!
  • When having baths, use bubble bath soap, water softners or shower gel rather than general soap or bath oil. This will help prevent the build up of scum and the ring around the bath. As a bathroom organizer yourself, the less you have to scrub the better. If you swish the water and rub the edge of the bath before you let the water out, this will help too.
  • Install a hand held shower nozzle to help with cleaning the bath and shower. It makes the job heaps easier!
  • Another bathroom organzier tip is to always turn on the exhaust fan when having a shower to draw out excess moisture from the air. Also, open any windows after each use of the bathroom. This will help prevent the build up of mould and mildew on the walls and roof of the bathroom.
  • Keep a rubbish bin in one of the bathroom cupboards for old toilet rolls, personal items and other bathroom rubbish.
  • Keep a liquid soap dispenser next to the wash basin. It’s quicker, cleaner for the sink and easier to use than soap.
  • Install a hook or ring to hang a hand towel. It makes it easy for everyone to dry their hands.
  • Use a little step for young children to stand on to reach the sink. If this is not available you can have a wet soapy facewasher on hand so they can learn to wash their hands.

Young children are often hard to bath so try out these 10 ideas to make toddler bath routine fun !

  • Keep a disinfectant cleaning spray and sponge handy in one of the cupboards to give bench-tops and mirrors a quick going over after you finish in the bathroom. It’s a quick fix when expecting visitors and also reduces the build up of germs.
  • A good bathroom organizer tip is to use the correct bathroom storage . This will make products easier to find, help distinguish whose stuff is whose etc.
  • Keep unopened products in a separate area or cupboard from those you are currently using. It will prevent you having mulitple items that are the same, open at the same time. It also means, if there is an item you could use as a gift at the last minute, it has been kept untouched and ready to spoil someone else.
  • You can use cheap bath towels as floor towels. It allows you to wash them easily when they are dirty, you can match them to any theme you change your bathroom to and they are a great size.

This bathroom organizer guide will continue to grow with ideas so keep posted!
